Radiant Orchid

Radiant Orchid has been chosen by Pantone as Colour of the Year 2014 and although it's not as refreshing as Emerald for 2013 there's something about this shade that is a cross between a girly fuchsia and making a bold statement.

Pantone has described the colour as 'an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.' At Lark and Peony, we want all that and more for 2014, don't you?

We'll be toying with this colour and its varying shades throughout our block coloured and print collections this year and if we had things our way, a beautiful winter coat in this shade right now would lend some warmth to the winter months ahead. Stay warm or cool wherever you are and soon you'll see this shade translate to lip colour, interior furnishing, lush leather accessories and perhaps a Nespresso machine. You can do whatever you want with it but please, no Radiant Orchid iPhone colours pretty please?

Brides-to-be perhaps this might be the bold shade you were looking for to stand out from the usual fairy pinks and baby blues.

Tell us what you think about Radiant Orchid?
