FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you have a physical store?
We are a fully online establishment registered in Singapore. We do pop-ups now and then when the opportunity arises in Singapore. Announcements will be made on Facebook, Instagram and via our mailing list.
When do you have pop-up shops throughout the year?
We try to do one closer to Chinese New Year every year and we had a successful pop-up at Ion Orchard with Free Folk during our February 2016 pop-up where we met so many of our regular customers.
Do you do alterations?
Currently we are unable to assist with alterations as our tailor and her team are very busy with pre-orders until mid-2016. May we suggest that you take your purchased piece to a trusted local seamstress who is able to alter it to fit you perfectly. Do note that we do not accept returns/exchanges for pieces that have been altered.
What size am I?
Our sizes range from Small to Large and Extra Large for certain designs. It's best to refer to the size chart on each individual and read the designer's notes to understand how the piece is supposed to fit and if the cut is smaller or more generous depending on design and fabric used.
What is a Pre-Order?
Occasionally, we have pieces of fabric that are limited and instead of guessing what sizes we should produce, we put out the maximum number of pieces we can create with that particular fabric. This way, no fabric goes to waste but despite pre-ordering, there’s still limited pieces so you’ll have to be fast when it launches.
Do you do customization?
We do not customise cheongsams as our production team is not equipped to do so at this point.
Why are you always sold out for certain pieces? WHY!?
We design and produce many of our pieces locally and we are unable to produce in large numbers like the international big brands. Our fabric is sourced mostly from Japan and locally. We intentionally refrain from buying in bulk for every print/fabric so that we don’t over-produce for any one of our designs. We produce from 4-16 pieces of each design and apologize if you keep missing out on getting a piece. We are trying our best to produce a little more each time and provide a variety of colours. Thank you for being ever so patient with us.
How often do you launch new designs?
Launches are irregular because it really depends on how fast our production team works. Currently we make samples the moment we are inspired and customers are able to pre-order and wait anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months for certain pieces. To be kept in the know, do sign up for an account.
What can we do to make checking out easier when we purchase something from a launch?
It’s highly recommended that you sign up for a webstore account with us. Leaving your details and having all fields like address and contact numbers filled out will make purchasing a breeze. We accept credit cards, PayPal and local bank transfers. Also, you’re always the first to know when we have any upcoming launches.
Are you stocked at any fine boutiques or stores across the beautiful island of Singapore?
No we aren’t because we currently produce in very lean numbers and for some items, they come in 4 pieces only, which is why we are unable to stock them in physical stores. We want to give all our customers who are based worldwide a chance to get their hands on a limited edition piece.
How do I care for my pieces from Lark and Peony?
We recommend that you dry clean your cheongsams (most of all the lace pieces) although some can be cold hand-washed with very mild detergent separately from other clothing. All batik pieces have to be washed separately. Cool iron on the reverse side is recommended for all pieces and especially those with prints.
Exchanges and Returns?
We allow for size exchanges and if we don’t have the size you require, we will gladly take the item back and refund your money provided all our return conditions are met. See conditions here.
